Lightnings Mystery

I just decided to post this picture of my baby boy Lightning. :) His show name, if/when we ever show someday, is Lightnings Mystery, which has some meaning to it really, but It's sorta hard to explain.

Biggest snow so far this year

Last year this same week, we got a record snow. About 14 inches. Today, we got about 4 or 5 inches. Sure isn't that big, but it got us out of school for one day so far! But Dang it was cold. 19 was today's high, but most of it was 19, and the bitter cold wind made it seem more like 8. But I was outside almost all day! I went sledding, walking, and of course riding Fancy. I wanted to ride Lightning but my dad said it was too cold for him to come watch haha. I never let weather stop me.(; But yeah, I rode and got some videos and pictures of the horses. Not many of either though. But it was a blizzard out for a large part of the day. it was really neat.(: I'm hoping to ride Lightning again soon, and I'll have a new update when I do.(:

Lightning's First Ride!

Oh my gosh. Yesterday, I rode Lightning for the first time! My dad led him of course, but I can't wait till I can ride him on my own! Anyway he did SO well. He didn't even buck or anything, not once. I got on his back and he stood pretty still, and then after some walking around he decided to trot a bit! It was so fun fun and his gaits are so smooth! It was amazing! I love that baby boy so much :) I'll never forget this!

Lightning is gelded!

Ohhh myyy goodness! It finally happened! Lightning is no longer a stallion! He is a gelding!!! So I woke up early this morning, brushed all his winter coat off, and got him all pretty for the vet. When she came out, I brought Lightning into the yard, then the vet sedated him. He took the needle very well. He actually had to take it twice since the first time didn't work haha! Then he fell to the ground, not too hard though, and I was the last thing he saw before he went unconscious. Then I sat and stroked him neck throughout the procedure. He did really well! After it was all done, and he came to, he opened his eyes and saw me rubbing his face. Then he decided he was gonna just stay down and nap! Haha! So we actually had to spray him with the water hose to get him on his feet! After that, Gandalf got his rabies shot and then we took Sienna and Fancy out to the pasture in the end of the field and left Lightning in the pasture by the barn. They are probably still out there whinnying back and forth to each other. Lightning did actually leave the far side of the pasture and let me brush him. He was a good boy all day today. I'm so proud of him and I LOVE HIM SOOOOOOOOOOOO (Ox1000) much!!! The pictures of him in the stall are before the procedure, and the pics of him loose are after. :)

Another Day Goes By...

Well, today is a dreary stormy-looking day. I've been riding Sienna lately and she's doing surprisinly well. I'm so pleased with her! Lightning is also being a sweetie and doing well with his training. Fancy as always is doing good too. I plan to ride today if it doesn't rain anymore. I'm really starting to get into the swing of summer!!! Well as I write this I'm in math class in the computer lab. I just finished an online test and did pretty well :) Math is my favorite subject even though it can be hard, but at least you don't see the dreaded word "Explain" on a math test very often. :) Haha i love :)'s! I'm so happy and hyper today! It's been a pretty good day. :) Haha! Well Talk to yall soon! I'll be sure to add more pics within the next couple days.

P.s. Lightnings Mystery's castration is scheduled for THIS SATURDAY.

Another Day...

Today was yet another beautiful day. Though the wind was a bit chilly, it was sunny and clear, and I had a great time. I went to Tractor Supply today and got M-T-G. It's for skin condition/small skin wound treatment and hair growth. Haha. I put a lot on Sienna's tail. Lightning was really sweet today. I went up to him and he kinda nipped at me, but he always does that and it's a playful sign of love :) The other horses were fine too, and I sat on Fancy's back till Lightning came running, then I jumped off and got outta the way so I wouldn't be ran over! Haha!
