Gandalf

It's Gandalf! I took this today. I had him lay down in front of the pasture in the good light and snapped a few, this one being the best. He's such a good bubby..

Drawings

Yesterday, I got bored and drew some pictures. The first one is a Saddlebred in a show, meant for my friend LeeAnn who shows a Saddlebred named Honey. The second is an Arabian stallion. The third is a dun QH mare. Anyway, hope you like them!

Sienna

Sienna is a rescue horse

Lightning

Lightning is Sienna's baby

Fancy

Fancy is my horse. My first horse. She is a bay QH mare that I couldn't love more if I died trying! She is very sweet, very kind, and a very good riding horse. Here's our story.

One day when my brother and I got home from our mom's, my dad was gone and we were told to stay inside because we had a surprise! I waited and waited, and finally when it got dark, my dad and papaw finally returned and told us to come outside. They led us to the barn, and I couldn't see anything, but my dad lit up a flashlight which revealed a beautiful bay horse. I was so shocked I thought I was gonna faint! Hahahaha! The reason we had to wait so long was because she had torn down the fence after being shocked and ran away, and my dad had to go get her! She ran clear into a nearby neighborhood! But she finally got back, and the next day, I spent the whole day getting to know her and quickly fell deeply in love.

For a long time, i didn't have a saddle and I was a very inexperienced rider. Mind I as 8 at the time. So i mostly just led her around like a dog and played with her. She was so kind and gentle that even I, a little girl, could lift her head from the grass and lead her around wherever I wanted. After a while I finally rode her. My dad would lead her while I rode her bareback and we'd go all over the place. But once my goofy dog Gandalf came with us when we went into the field, and he had a deflated basketball of all things. He dropped it right in our way so my dad kicked it, which spooked Fancy, thus, my first fall. I cried. It was scary; it was the first time I had fallen off any horse! And it certainly wasn't my last! Anyway, I learned to get back on and keep riding her, and it all went from there to now, where I am a much more experienced and confident (and knowledgeable) rider, her as my wonderful steed. Of course by now, Sienna has come into the picture, and well as the rambunctious Lightning. But Fancy will always hold a special place in my heart as my very first horse.

Not much happening for today

Well, not much has happened today. Pretty bored actually. It's supposed to snow tonight so I have my fingers crossed for at least a 2 hour delay for school tomorrow!

Lightning's a Winter Sprinter

This is my very first blog!

Yesterday, Lightning went for a run through the snowy field. Luckily, I had my new camera on me and I got a lot of pictures. lightning enjoyed galloping through the snow and kickin' up clumps of it. Fancy and Sienna just asat and watched him until he began to pester Fancy. Fancy reacted with a strong kick, and he didn't bother her again! It was a fun day with the horses.. =)
